I am looking to purchase a new tablet pc, so I thought I would ask if anyone has got a really got tablet pc. In the past I have used an Ergo tablet, but recently have gone back to a normal laptop as the keyboard on the tablet wasn’t very good. I am now missing my tablet, so I have decided to look for a convertable.
My wife has just got a HP convertable, but it has only got a 12″ screen and that is too small for me, no good for webdesign or game design so I need 14.1″.
I am looking at the Acer TravelMate C312 - but would want to upgrade the RAM to 2Gb.
Has anyone got an Acer tablet? Are they any good? Can anyone recommend a different tablet pc?
While checking on what my friends tag on their del.icio.us accounts, I came across the ‘One Red Paperclip‘ blog. What a great idea, I am going to try and keep an eye on that blog to see what the guy eventually ends up with. Why does everyone else some to come up with these cool ideas and I don’t, it was like the buy a pixel for a $1 website - report from The Times can be found here.
I have just come across this game: Escapa! I found it very addictive and after a couple of goes my best score is 20.18 seconds. The tactic I empolyed was very much like playing squash after moving I always tried to return to the centre.
If anyone else has a play of it I would be keen to hear your best score and what tactics you employed while playing.
I have just read this blog posting and was wondering how I could take that thinking and use the questions so that students could answer them easily and in a way that would allow the answers to be used by the teacher.
I know there are at least a couple of students who have read this blog, I would be interested in your thoughts.
I have just returned home from completing the c2c (Sea to Sea) cycle ride. WOW! What an experience, a group of 10 people who I work with decided to get on our bikes and cycle across England to raise money for the Lingden Davies Cancer Relief fund. The route was put together and managed by Sustrans and they have done an excellent job.
After my first exposure to producing a pocast I am keen to think about other places/subject area focuses I could use to produce more. Below are some of my initial thoughts, but I would really appreciate comments by others, either experts in the field (like Ewan) or novices like myself. Read the rest of this entry »
Today I had my first experience of producing a podcast with students. Ewan McIntosh, who looks just like his picture on his blog, lead a 3 hour session on podcasting with 20 Year 10 MFL students from Thomas Adams School in Wem (Shropshire).
